We are delighted to be able to announce today the next step in the Landform Surveys’ journey, our successful acquisition by Lucion Services.
Lucion Group is a purpose-driven organisation dedicated to protecting people and the planet, providing a comprehensive suite of value-added environmental, health and safety risk management and consultancy services.
The Group comprises Lucion Services a market-leading provider of hazardous materials management services, Delta-Simons, an established multi-disciplinary environmental and health and safety consultancy providing trusted advice and solutions for sustainable development, and Aberdeen Radiation Protection Services, a specialist provider of comprehensive and cost-effective radiation protection services to a wide range of internationally operating industrial and non-industrial companies.
With a nationwide presence, and a global footprint through its membership of the Inogen Alliance, Lucion Group has more than 550 employees operating across more than 20 specialist sectors and including Utilities, Real Estate, Nuclear, Technology, Marine and Development.
This is Lucion Groups’ second acquisition of 2022, with the group investing around £600,000 in expanding its testing laboratory in Gateshead, an investment which will create up to 15 new jobs this year. The Group, which has clients across the UK and a network of 25 regional offices, will now employ around 100 people in Gateshead at the Team Valley Trading Estate.
Landform Surveys’ skilled team and services, led by founder and Managing Director, Eric Hinds, will be integrated into Lucion Services’ testing and inspection unit, to complement their services.
Eric, who will remain with Landform Surveys as Topographical Services Director, said:
“Landform Surveys Ltd has an established reputation of delivering trusted topographical surveying services throughout the UK. We are proud of the status that Landform Surveys has attained over the 28 years and our excellent relationships with our clients, not in small part due to the enthusiasm, commitment, professionalism and expertise that our staff possess.
When I was first approached by Lucion for the acquisition, it was clear that our service offering and client base would be at home within the group. We are excited to be joining a strong, well established technical business, based so close to home.”
Eric and our management team will continue to run Landform Surveys Ltd, with support from the Lucion Services Senior Leadership Team and Adam Mead, Managing Director of Testing and Inspection at Lucion Services.
Adam said: “We are delighted to bring the Landform Surveys team into the group. They are experts in their field and offer dynamic delivery to their clients and we can’t wait to start working with them.
“As a close neighbour of ours in the North East, Landform is well-regarded in the marketplace for its excellent track record of investment in the latest technology, including robotic total stations and 3D laser scanners, and of course a strong commitment to client service, values which perfectly mirror our own.”
Phil Rozier, Chief Executive Officer of Lucion Group said: “As a business, we are passionately committed to protecting people and the planet and this latest acquisition alongside significant investment in our laboratory service will help us better deliver on this mission.
“We are therefore always pleased to bring new talent into the business and to be creating skilled jobs in Gateshead, where Lucion has its roots.
“We’ve had a really busy start to 2022 as we continue to scale the business in line with our strategic growth plan and look forward to making further progress this year with strong organic growth delivered alongside further strategic acquisitions.”
Next Steps for Landform Surveys
Lucion has acquired 100% of the shares in Landform Surveys Ltd. We will continue to trade as Landform Surveys Ltd, forming a specialist topographical surveying division of the wider testing, inspection and consultancy services Lucion Services offer to national and international clients. As we integrate into our new larger Group, there will be no changes to our current ways of working, and we will continue to provide our clients with high-quality services.
We are excited to see what the future holds for Landform Surveys and Lucion Services, and we will be sharing any updates we have on our service offerings across our socials and blog in the upcoming months.
