Year in Review 2016

2016 has been a year of growth for Landform Surveys, and we’re excited to see what happens in 2017!

We’ve had new members of staff join our team, and we’re pleased at the great addition they have made. First with Adam Simms, as a graduate surveyor and has been developing his skills in topographic and setting out surveys. Carol Hall joined us in March as our Accounts Administrator and has been great at keeping our books in order. Lastly, two new apprentices, Harrison Moore and Harry Crawford joined us in October. We’re looking forward to working more with our apprentices in the new year.

In April, we launched a new website, which was designed by Cargo Creative and has generated a lot of feedback and some nice compliments.

And as always, surveying has been keeping us busy and we have covered the length and breadth of the country this year. We’ve had surveys commissioned all the way from Inverness down to Brighton. We’ve also had an odd trip to Belgium and The Netherlands, and it’s great to work on projects in new environments!

Some of our notable projects and events include:

We finished the year by completing some major projects:

In Cumbria, we have been surveying roads and infrastructure damaged by Storm Desmond in December 2015.

We completed a topographic survey of 250ha of land on the outskirts of Newcastle for a major housing development

This year, we’ve gotten to complete more UAV surveys, with our last one of the year commissioned by The Mineral Planning Group in Bradford. This was of a large quarry on Cumbria. The banner image with the UAV is from this survey.

Our surveyors have taken some great photos throughout the year, so good in fact that we have produced a calendar showcasing some of the best images. If anyone would like one please email us on office@landform-surveys.co.uk (its free!).

As a thank you to our staff for all the commitment & enthusiasm they have shown throughout the year, we are all off to Amsterdam for our Christmas party!

Wishing all our clients a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2017.
